Think Progress distorts McCain again

Think Progress loves to beat up on McCain. They hate him with an uncontrollable passion. They are now distorting a McCain comment from 4 years ago. Talk about reaching, Think Progress must have strained arms.
FLASHBACK: McCain Declared Osama Bin Laden Threats Are ‘Very Helpful’ To Bush’s Campaign
U.S. Sen. John McCain, campaigning in southwestern Connecticut on Saturday, said Osama bin Laden’s video message to Americans will likely energize President Bush’s re-election campaign.
“I think it’s very helpful to President Bush,” said McCain, R-Ariz., while stumping in Stamford for U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays. “It focuses America’s attention on the war on terrorism. I’m not sure if it was intentional or not, but I think it does have an effect.” [AP, 10/30/04]
Anyone with common sense knows that McCain was discussing how Bin Laden’s video message before the ‘04 election would make Americans focus on the war with Islamo-Fascism and that in turn helped Bush. No way was he saying that Bin Laden was helping or helpful to Bush, he was talking about the focus on terror. Think Progress knows this, but they smear him anyway.
The McCain campaign needs to fight back and I open this website to anyone from that campaign that would like to refute the lies of Think Progress. McCain is slipping in the polls and this is due to non stop attacks by the Left. If McCain doesn’t fight back, he will lose.
