Think Progress Parrots Salon in Criticizing Fox

Salon.com’s criticism of FOXNews calling Michelle Obama Barack’s “baby mama” is absurd and hypocritical, so, naturally, Think Progress is parroting them:
Yesterday, Salon’s Alex Koppleman highlighted a Fox News chyron referring to Sen. Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle, as “Obama’s Baby Mama,” a term that the Urban Dictionary defines as “the mother of your child(ren), whom you did not marry and with whom you are not currently involved.” After Koppleman pointed out the chyron, ABC’s Jake Tapper remarked that the term’s use was “just straight-up racist.”
The term simply means that she is the mother of his children, there is nothing racist or insulting about it. In fact, Ms. Obama has referred to Barack as her “baby’s daddy.”
Does that mean Michelle Obama is racist? No. But the Left is determined to define this term as racially loaded.
And, of course, the goons at Think Progress are trying to paint this as a case of racism against the Obamas, just as bloggers at Salon.com have tried to do.
Pathetic.

What I find funny is for as Hip as the Left claims they are, they know nothing about Hip-Hop/Urban Terms. Michele is Barrack’s Baby Mama. It’s not racist. I wonder what they think of Nas’s New song?

You are soooo full of it. I am often the only white person in fairly large crowds, and I have actually been pulled over for “driving while white” in a place where most white people are afraid to go.
All my employees are black and hail from the part of the community that you leave as soon as you can afford to. Several have “baby mamas,” i.e. mothers of their children to whom they are not married.
When they ARE married to the mother of their children, the term they use is the same as the one I use. WIFE.
WIFE. Look it up. It is the accurate description for Michelle Obama vis a vis Barack.
In the ‘hood, “Baby mama” ALWAYS refers to a woman with whom the father is not cohabiting. You should meet a black person some day. You would find it an interesting and obviously new experience.

I’m from the Hood myself. Baby Mama just means that. Your Baby Mama. It is usually in reference to a Women whom you are not married with and have a Kid with. But it can be used just to describe your Baby Mama. I have a Friend who’s married and when his wife calls he says It’s his baby Mama. It’s all about context.

They probably love it, it’s part of their hypocrisy.
Also, Repack Rider, Trajan is right, your “baby mama” just means “mother of your baby” nothing more, nothing less. It’s not racist at all, and it’s not an insult.
Plus, not all married couples have kids, just because the Obamas are married doesn’t mean that Michelle isn’t the mother of his children.
Anyway, Michelle calls Barack her “baby daddy,” … it’s how they refer to each other!
